Learning To Become a Pro Trader
Greetings everyone!
For years I have dabbled in trading. Day trading, swing trading, value investing, you name it. I’ve always been a buy low on fundamentally sound projects and exit as close to the peaks of market cycles as possible. However, I’ve never looked at it as an actual option for building monthly income, until now.
I’ve set out on a goal to generate $20,000 per month in day/swing trading. I’ve started with $3,500. I know, it sounds insane, but I do believe its possible. I will also be adding my ADA generated from my CROW node every epoch to build my trade book in addition to profits generated. I’m serious about this.
Why have I grown so serious all of the sudden? The markets are changing. As you’ll see in my most recent video: You’re Not Going To Like This, but… I explain how Institutions are completely taking over the crypto markets and will be leading Retail instead of the other way around. It’s obvious as I show on that video how each market is getting longer as we push beyond 4 year cycles. We cant count on them any longer to time our long term investment strategies. So it’s time to learn to trade it in a serious way.
From here on, I will be sharing my journey, thoughts, strategies, what works and what doesn’t every step of the way with paid subscribers. I dont want to spam those not genuinely interested in what I have to say on a regular basis. If you are in the Paid category of this Substack, you’re going to be hearing from me, a lot, moving forward.
My goal is simple. I’m going to be going through courses, reading books and putting to practice what I learn and sharing my results with each stuff, my thoughts and what I do and don’t like as well as my mindset about everything as I progress until I’ve formulated my own strategy by which I’ll operate from there. I believe trading strategies are like Wine. Everyone has their own flavor that resonates with them in a unique way.
What am I doing RIGHT NOW?
I am going through Trade Travel Chill’s Market Maker course. I am not an affiliate of hers but I’ve been friends with her for years and convinced her to get on Youtube a while back as she originally started on TikTok. She is quite simply, amazing. She was originally mentored by Jacob Canfield who was an amazing trader but vanished from the web after what I consider a silly scandal. He is a brilliant trader and was very profitable, and he would show his trades etc, however, sometimes he would make the trades look bigger than they were for effect and to draw attention to them. That made him appear to be a grifter and everyone shunned him into vanishing from social media for years. The truth is, he is a brilliant trader and mentored many top traders in the space including Annie of TTC.
Exchange: I’m trading on Bitunix. Of all of the exchanges I’ve used, I quite honestly like this one the best. No KYC or anything but primarily, I love the interface and how it lets me enter a trade, push a Take Profit slider and Stop Loss Slider where I want them and adjust them easily as the price moves. It’s very nice. That link is an affiliate link but know that I could EASILY (and have) gone with another exchange that would give me $10,000 to $20,000 in a trade budget just to use their exchange on my channel. This means they give me $20k in BTC I can’t withdrawal, but I can trade with it and keep my profits. I’m not doing that for two reasons. #1. Because I really like Bitunix and I’ve used at least 6 different platforms. #2. I want it to be MY money I’m trading with. I need to feel the losses. I need to celebrate the wins. I need the experience to be real so I’m forced to trade like anyone risking capital would. That is how I’ll learn best.
Below are my first number of trades over a few days.
I’ve been trading the early morning market opens, watching the price action between 8am to 9:30 and trading the fake out movement until around 11am EST. At that point the price generally reverses to the downside to test moving averages or break through them. I suspected the major dump we got yesterday and that was my intent for the $300 profit trade, but, not having my real strategy and setups locked down, I got out of the trade instead of letting it ride. Was it a mistake to miss out on such profit? No! Hindsight is always 20/20 and I was happy with the $300 win that could have gone the opposite direction on a fluke and cost me. I’d rather have smaller, careful wins every day reliably than major swings in my trade book (budget).
What are my plans:
a. I’m diving into the Market Maker Method as my base strategy.
b. I’ll be reading books, watching videos and putting into practice things such as Elliot Wave Theory, Fibonacci Retracement, ICP, Orderbook Trading, Volume Profiles, Moving Averages, VWap, RSI and much more. As I deeply explore these indicators, I’ll be journaling my experience with them as I narrow down on what works with my Market Maker base and what helps me achieve the highest levels of trade probability over time. Probability is the name of the game with an educated understanding of how the market moves and why.
c. I’ll be using AI to examine historical chart data to help me fine tune my practice and understand key setups that help me narrow down what to look for to further increase my probabilities and will be sharing those insights here.
Overall, I’ll be taking all of the posts in my Trading tag and once I’ve concluded my routines, strategies, indicators of use etc, I’ll be compiling it all into a book to help others that want a no nonsense approach to what I’ve done so that maybe what works for me or resonates with me mentally and emotionally may not be the Wine of choice for others, and they can find their own.
